She was the mother of a client accused of burglary of his girlfriend’s apartment.  His mother constantly told me, “The young lady wants to drop the charges”.  I kept telling Dawn that if that was in fact the case, then the girl needed to contact the State Attorney’s Office.  Well, the girl never did contact them.  She came to trial and testified strongly against my client.  In the middle of the trial Dawn hands the bailiff a note saying the girl wishes to recant.  Then Dawn was accused of possible witness tampering.  Dawn effectively ended my friendship with that prosecutor.
